Butler County has been selected to host the Can-Am Police-Fire Games in 2024 at a variety of venues
BUTLER COUNTY, PA (November 18, 2019) – The Can-Am Police-Fire Games will be held in Butler County, July 15-21 in 2024 at a variety of venues throughout the area. Can-Am Police-Fire Games is a multi-sport, Olympic-style event that features traditional sports and competitions that include skills used in first responders’ day-to-day work. The Games will have competitors from fire and police departments, emergency medical service providers, Homeland Security, Border Patrol, corrections officers and more.
The Can-Am games are expected to see about 1,000 participants from the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Canada.
Butler County Commissioner, Kevin Boozel and Sheriff of Butler County, Michael T. Slupe joined President, Jack Cohen and Sports Sales and Event Manager, Brianna Kaiser from Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau, as they presented in Las Vegas on Sunday, Nov. 17. Butler County, Pennsylvania, and Savannah, Georgia were the two finalists for site selections.
A previous site tour of Butler County occurred in September, where Can-Am Board members visited various sports and outdoor venues like Slippery Rock University, Moraine State Park, Michelle Krill Pullman Park, and UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.
Several different events will be taking place over the week like cross-country races, cycling, ultimate frisbee, ice hockey, powerlifting, archery and much more! Contestants and spectators will be staying in Butler County for the duration of the event, which will have a significant economic impact for the area.
